Project Vann Logo

At RVES we believe that creating a green generation is the responsibility of the education sector. So that future generations may be in any profession, they will always lead sustainable ways of living. To make children sensitive towards the environment it’s very important that we make them aware about the treasures that lie in nature.

With this objective, we have developed project ‘vann’ where “v” stands for values, “a” stands for academic, “n” stands for nature, and “n” stands for nurture.

Module

Project ‘vann’ has 10 nature stories covering more than 50 wildlife species for each grade from grade 1 to grade 7 with interactive sessions and worksheets. These stories are correlated with the concepts from state board’s EVS textbook which makes learning easier for children and academic concepts stronger. Project ‘vann’ also includes celebration of  environment days and Eco-friendly festivals. EVS activities are also integral part of ‘vann’. There are total 5 projects are taken under EVS for the year. Projects like energy, water, and paper audit; motivate and guide children to bring conservation into practice.

Stories are also connected with values and life skill. 10 stories cover 10 values/life skills like curiosity, observation skills, empathy etc throughout the year with various activities.

Remedial Education

Remedial education is one of the integral part of project ‘vann’.

We group the children based on their performance level and tailor an individual response for the children with learning challenges.

The programme includes one-to-one support to students and extra classes with specialist learning disability tutors. RVES has specially designed syllabus for remedial classes with numerous activities.

V - Values

Storytelling drives the human thought. It is the most powerful to shape the mind. Like the Panchatantra teaches children various values through nature stories; in this modern Panchatantra - the project ‘vann’ we teach children values and life skills through nature stories that cover the rich Indian wildlife & natural history. Values like being helpful, respectful, etc and life skills like observation, critical thinking, problem solving, etc develops through these stories and activities.

A - Academics

Nothing has ever inspired humans as the natural world has. All our knowledge essentially is derived by looking at nature and pondering about it. Biomimicry is seen in many innovations – like the airplane is inspired by birds, weaving is inspired by the Baya Weaver bird, Stitching is inspired by the Tailorbird. So why not teach academic concepts through nature? In the project ‘VANN’ we have selected around 10 important concepts from EVS, science and geography per grade. These concepts are weaved into the nature stories. Around 50 difficult to comprehend concepts such as the tides, air pressure, classification of plants & animals, speed, light, seasons, thermal zones; are taught through nature stories across the grade 3 to 7. Correlation helps children to have better a understanding that helps them not only to remember it but appreciate the environment.

N - Nature

We believe that nature conservation is possible only if our children are aware about the treasure of it. Through the connected-to-academics nature stories we also cover around 50 species of Indian wildlife in a year per grade, specially designed by wildlife expert. Each story has amazing activities, games and worksheet which generate interest and curiosity among students. This also has a remarkable impact on growth in children’s general knowledge. Students learn the wonders of nature and fall in love with nature. And what you love, you definitely save it!

N - Nurture

We at RVES nurture children and nature both. Through the project ‘vann’ our team nurtures their innocent minds. Our caring educators encourage them to open up, share their views and take active part in the world around them. We aim to create a bond between the educator and children, which is very important for their emotional growth. And while nurturing the children, we inculcate the value in them to nurture the nature. Many of our students have already stepped into the roles of "Young Naturalists" and are on the mission to save nature.
