Our impact

At RVES we strongly believe that the impact we make on children goes a long way in many intangible ways. Things we do and teach kids are imbibed in their subconscious and shape their life. And when as teachers we do the right things, it impacts many future generations. Everything that we do at RVES has this belief at its core and all actions are an outcome of the question “What’s best for our kids?” The high enrolments in the school are proof that we are accepted by the parents as an institution providing high quality education. Not just academic inputs, but the enrichment, lifeskills and extra care that we provide to the children is visible in their desire to learn and in the great connection they feel with the school. Parents report that their wards are eager to come to school even on a holiday. This is a great example of the impact we are creating in todays system where Education is just defined by school attendance and marks. Also, the aspiration of most of our students is not just to get employment but to build careers in esteemed fields like environmental sciences, civil services, public welfare, and social sectors. The best example is one of our students who wants to start many more RVES once she grows up!

Young Naturalists

Over the course of years we have shaped a number of naturalist-environmentalists trained by professionals. Our kids love and can make you fall in love with the variety of flora and fauna around them and are willing to work hard in every way to conserve it.

Impact on parents

Over the last many years, we have actively worked with parents through regular parent engagement sessions and events. From anecdotal evidence, it clearly emerges that parents see the school staff as a mentor not only for their children but also for themselves. Be it parenting tips, career guidance for their child or any family issues, they reach out for support. The improved gender ratio in the school is a significant proof that the parents of our children are thinking more progressively.

Impact on teachers

“I am teaching for 20 years but the number of teaching aids I have made at RVES; I haven’t made in 20 years”

“I want to learn about learning disabilities and do course of remedial teacher”

“We feel like family in the school”

These comments from our teachers tell us that we are on the right track and our connection with the cause is growing stronger.

Once teachers become a part of RVES they grow as a teacher, acquiring numerous teaching techniques. Most of the team members pursue further education or attend training sessions to develop skills. We also train teachers to become life skill trainers and  remedial teachers. Due to these trainings and workshops, they have not only become more sensitive and aware of different social issues but now have learned to respond to and integrate solutions to issues dealing with gender equality, caste discrimination, domestic violence, and child psychology. They progress towards developing non-judgmental & balanced views, which is crucial for a teacher.
